Pretty dress

As many of you know Mini M. is quite the girly-girl, so getting a new Easter dress and sandals was a thrill. It was pretty much the highlight of her year.

Easter Weekend

Sooo... How was your weekend? We had nice 'un. On Saturday C.N. went up to his friend's property to play paintball. He came home proud of the fact that he only had one red, slightly oozing welt to account for. The whole idea of paintball sounds fun to me. Dodging behind trees... trying to sneak up on your enemy- except for- oh yeah... it hurts to play. Especially if you have no idea what you're doing. Which I don't. never mind. Yes. I'll admit it. I'm a wuss. Why put myself through pain/discomfort, if it's not necessary? I guess that's why I've never liked roller coasters or scary movies either.

Sunday was nice. We go to the "slacker service" at our church (12pm) so in the morning we always have time to chill out drink coffee and watch SNL that we recorded from the night before. Did anyone see Cats with lasers? Funny, although nowhere as good as the Chronic(what?)cles of Narnia.

We also did a treasure hunt for Mini M. to find her Easter bunny. Poor little person, when I told her we were going to do a treasure hunt she got all excited and started running around the house, putting things into her backpack and yelling about how we needed to get the bikes out so we could get started on the hunt. I think she thought it was going to be an all day affair. Instead she was treated to my feeble attempts for clues, like: "what does daddy wear on his feet?" Or, "where do we keep things cold?" I guess it didn't really matter that much, because the end result was still a chocolate bunny. (that smelled slightly like plastic) After church, knowing that we were destined for soggy ham and greasy boxed scalloped potatoes at the family get together that afternoon, we made a quick run to Macaroni Grill to fill up on some edible food. (Just as greasy, but gooood greasy.) Then we went to hang with the fam.
That was our weekend. Now, tell me about yours.

Spring has sprung.

Wow. I've been slacking off on the whole blogging thing. Sorry! To tell you the truth, life has been quite uneventful lately. I suppose the most thrilling events would have to be:
1. We finally got a Costco membership. (Is it possible to go in there without spending at least $100???) I feel that I am a real "housewife" now that I have enough toilet paper, paper towels and dishwasher detergent to outfit a small army.
2. The weather is finally starting to behave. After spending way to much time in the house, it is quite nice to be able to take Mini M to the park.
Ok. So that's it for thrilling occurrences in the "Nighty" household. I warned you of my life's boringness.

I'm now officially 37 weeks- 4 days, and as of today have been pregnant longer than I was with Mini M. I feel that now entitles me to a "I'm 9 months pregnant, now piss off" pass. I'm not that crabby, really. In fact quite a few people have told me how well I'm behaving for someone in my "condition." (Condition meaning: crazy person who- gets 4 hours of sleep a night, pee's every 6 minutes, has no pants that fit, can't bend over and last but not least, constantly is getting Kung Fu kicked from inside by an insane 7 lb person.)

Soooo... besides all that, everything is going well. The weather is lovely, C.N.'s work is going well, and Mini M's 4th birthday is coming up. Now, if I could just evict Min-E sometime soon, things would be looking way up.

A "smooth" day.

Last Thursday we actually had a beautiful day. (compared to what we've been having) It was sunny and in the high 60's. Mini M got to go without a coat which was a huge thrill for her. Don't worry, she still had approximately 9 layers on, just no coat. The entire day she kept saying over and over, "Mom, what a lovely, smooooth day!" I'm not sure what exactly a "smooth" day is, but I'll take more of them.

Tree 'o shame

We had a huge tree in our backyard that we had to cut down. So sad. I hate to cut down trees, even if they're dead.

About Me

My photo
Welcome to Em's world. I am a stay at home/ work at home (when the odd job presents itself) mom. I have the privilege to spend every single day with my sweet/crazy 5 yr. old daughter, Mini M. and my little man, Baby W. who was born May 3rd. I can't forget the best part of my life- my hub. C.N., who happens to be the sweetest, funniest fella alive. We have been married almost 6 years. So that's me and my fam.
